Fullness

Standard

Cut Allowance

Standard
  • Each product page gives the MYL approved cut yardage.
Variations
  • Any cut allownace other than the MYL approved cust allowance must be clearly stated on the order with an explanation of adjustments needed to be made to the product.

Yardage

Standard
  • Each product page gives the MYL approved yardage.
Variations
  • Any yardage other than the MYL approved yardage must be clearly stated on the order with an explanation of any adjustments needed to be made to the number of cuts, the cut length, or to the product.
Additional Charges
  • MYL charges for rolling out fabric sent with less yardage without explanation.
  • MYL charges for rolling out fabric sent with flaws and requested to see if we can get the cuts out around the flaws.

Lining

Standard
  • MYL has a complete selection of lining fabric available (see Lining Fabric Program Section).
  • Regular lining is recommended for most swag styles.
  • Self and contrast lining is recommended for jabots, informal swags, and bell swags. Lining will show to the face.
  • The cost of the lining is not included in the price of the product.
  • MYL charges the same yardage as the product requires without repeat.
  • MYL requests that you do not send your own lining unless it is contrast.
Variations
  • If you provide your own lining, you must not send full bolts. MYL will only accept customers' own lining if the lining is provided in the correct yardage amount as each face fabric.
  • MYL will not stock customers' own lining.
  • MYL will not accept one lining for multiple face fabric orders.
Additional Charges
  • MYL charges for customer-supplied lining other than contrast.

Interlining

Standard
  • MYL has a complete line of interlinings available (see Lining Fabric Program Section).
  • The Swag section provides labor cost on a per swag, jabot, and per yard basis that includes the interlining fabric.
Variations
  • If you provide your own interlining, you must not send full bolts. MYL will only accept customers' own interlining if the interlining is provided in the correct amount as each face fabric.
  • MYL will not stock customers' own interlining.
  • MYL will not accept one roll of interlining for multiple face fabric orders.
Additional Charges
  • MYL charges for customer-supplied interlining.
  • If no code is listed for the product to be interlined, MYL will up-charge the labor for that product. Interlining included in up-charge (Swag Section Only).
  • MYL requests that you do not send your own interlining.

Bottom Hem

Standard
  • Swags and Jabots: Lining is sewn even to edge - Pillow Cased.
Variations
  • Lined with regular lining and a self or contrast band of fabric is placed at bottom edge of swag, jabo, or tail.
Additional Charges
  • Fabric band is charged using trim price found on product page. Plus cost of lining - use same yardage as product.
  • Unlined swags, jabots, and tails will be up-charged as a fabric band.

Top

Standard
  • Board mounted products must provide board return/projection. Tack strip used for mounting.
  • Standard return sizes 3/4", 1", 1 1/2", 2 1/2", 3 1/2", 5 1/2", 7 1/4", 9 1/4", 11 1/4".
  • Pole mounted products - velcro mount or fabric tabs.

Sides

Standard
  • Sewn even to edge.
  • Topstitched in on itself.

Finish Length

Standard
  • Swags - 16" to 24" long (Product specific)
  • Jabots - Up to 50" / Up to 90" / Up to 120"
  • Tails - Up to 36" (Over 36" need estimate)
Short Point
  • The difference between the long point and short point may vary. The specification of the short point or the short length at the crossovers necessitates MYL to drop strings. Product specific.
  • You can only specify a long or short point, not both.
Additional Charges
  • If finished length exceeds product standards, there will be an additional charge.
  • Specification of short point or short length will require an additional charge.

Mounting

Standard
  • Board mounting is included in the price. Board is 3/4 inch thick.
  • Pole mounting is included in price. Pole must be sent to workroom or ordered through the MYL Hardware Program. If un-mounted, specify pole diameter.
Additional Charges
  • Velcro mounting swag and jabots on boards will result in an additional charge.

Returns

Standard
  • Be sure to specify all returns. 
  • Standard return sizes are ¾”, 1”, 1 ½”, 2 ½”, 3 ½”, 5 ½”, 7 ¼”, 9 ¼”, 11 ¼”.
Additional Charges
  • Additional charge for returns that are not standard sizes.

Measuring

Standard
  • Face width must clear under treatments by a minimum of 4" in width and 2" on the return.
  • Overall Width for Swag Board = Face Width + Left Return + Right Return
  • Note: Swags are priced on face width only.
  • OB = Outside Mount
  • IB = Inside Mount (MYL will make 1/2 inch deduction unless otherwise specified)
  • OFM = Outside Face Measurement
  • IM = Inside Measure (Measurement from the inside of the left return to the inside of the right return. Used when you want to clear an existing treatment.)

Fabric Charges

Additional Charges
  • Velvet, suede, leather, upholstery weight, and plaid fabrics require an upcharge. Check additional charges.

Trim

Standard
  • Be sure to specify the trim placement on your order.

Band and Ruffle

Standard
  • Be sure to specify the band and ruffle width and placement on your order.

Upgrades

Additional Charges
  • Pelmets, trims (fringes, cords with lips, and braids), rosettes, knots or bows.
  • All upgrades listed will result in an additional charge.

Installation

Standard
  • Board to be centered on the window.
  • Brackets to be mounted 7/8” below ceiling or top of the board.
  • Brackets to be mounted 4” in on each end and every 40” to 50”.
  • Board lays on top of the angles.
  • Each bracket is screwed to the bottom of the board.
  • Note: Angle brackets are not included in the price.
