Traditional Drapery Treatments bring style, color, and light control to any room. There are over 40 different headers to choose from with custom dimensions and trim opportunities. Custom design allows you to design treatments that are not found within our normal standards and specifications. Volume and contract pricing are available. Kirsch and six other specialty Drapery Hardware lines are available with order.

Product Standards

Fullness

Standard
  • 2 ½ to 1 for regular fabric.
  • 3 to 1 for sheer or lightweight fabric.
Variations
  • You can specify any fullness at no extra charge.

Cut Allowance

Standard
  • Each product page gives the MYL approved cut allowance.
Variations
  • Any cut allowance other than the MYL approved cut allowance must be clearly stated on the order with an explanation of adjustments needed to be made to the cuts and to the product.

Yardage

Standard
  • Each product page gives the MYL approved yardage.
  • All yardages must be given for each fabric on each order.
Variations
  • Any yardage other than the MYL approved yardage must be clearly stated on the order with an explanation of any adjustments needed to be made to the number of cuts, the cut length, or to the product.
Additional Charges
  • MYL charges for rolling out fabric sent with less yardage without explanation.
  • MYL charges for rolling out fabric sent with flaws and requested to see if we can get the cuts out around the flaws.

Lining

Standard
  • MYL has a complete line of lining fabric available.
  • Lining is optional.
  • The cost of the lining is not included in the price of the product.
  • MYL charges the same yardage as the product requires without repeat.
  • MYL requests that you do not send your own lining unless it is contrast.
Variations
  • If you provide your own lining you must not send full bolts. MYL will only accept customers' own Lining if Lining is provided in the correct yardage amount as each face fabric.
    • MYL will not stock customers' own lining.
    • MYL will not accept one lining for multiple face fabric orders.
Additional Charges
  • MYL charges for customer-supplied lining other than contrast.

Interlining

Standard
  • MYL has a complete line of interlinings available.
  • Most products have a code for interlining which covers the additional labor only, not the cost of the interlining fabric.
  • The cost of the interlining is not included in the price of the product.
  • MYL charges the same yardage as the product requires without repeat.
  • MYL requests that you do not send your own Interlining unless it is contrast.
Variations
  • If you provide your own interlining, you must not send full bolts. MYL will only accept customers' own interlining if the interlining is provided in the correct amount as each face fabric.
    • MYL will not stock customers' own interlining.
    • MYL will not accept one interlining for multiple face fabric orders.
Additional Charges
  • MYL charges for customer-supplied interlining unless not stocked by MYL.
  • If no code is listed for that product to be interlined, MYL will up-charge the labor for that product.
    • MYL charges the same yardage as the product requires without repeat.
  • MYL requests that you do not send your own interlining.

Bottom Hem

Standard
  • Four (4) inch double hem is standard on all MYL drapery products.
  • 118” sheer with chain - MYL will assume that a euro hem is requested unless otherwise specified (chain as hem).
Variations
  • Any hem size up to 5” may be specified at no additional cost.
  • 118” sheer with chain – If euro hem is not desired, please indicate if we are to use in hem or cut off and make a regular hem with no chain.
Additional Charges
  • Oversized Hems – For hems over 5”, there will be an additional charge.
  • If pillow cased hems are needed, there will be an additional charge.

Top

Standard
  • For products with buckram/crinoline, four (4) inch top is standard.
  • For products without buckram/crinoline, four (4) inch top is standard.
  • For rod pocket draperies, the heading and pocket size must be specified.
Variations
  • For products with buckram/crinoline, you may specify 3” or 5” pleats (buckram/crinoline) at no extra charge.
  • For products without buckram/crinoline, you may specify up to 6” top hems at no extra charge.
  • For rod pocket draperies, you may specify up to a 6” pocket and a 4” heading at no extra charge.
  • Translucent buckram is available in various sizes at no additional charge.
Additional Charges
  • Pleat heights of 6” or more require an additional charge.
  • Panels over 4 widths or 6 yds RR includes 50% up-charge in chart. Panels over 6 widths or 9 yds RR need an estimate.
  • Top hems greater than 6” will be an additional charge.
  • Rod pockets greater than 6” will be an additional charge.
  • Headings greater than 4” will be an additional charge.
  • If pillow cased tops are needed, there will be an additional charge.

Sides

Standard
  • Sides are 1 ¾” double when fabric allows.
  • Sides are blind stitched whenever possible.
Variations
  • Sides’ from 1” to 3” may be specified at no additional charge.
Additional Charges
  • If pillow-cased side hems are needed, there will be an additional charge.
  • Sides greater than 3” will be an additional charge.
  • Sides that must be hand sewn will be an additional charge.
  • Sides that must be faced will be an additional charge.

Center Seam

Standard
  • Seam in center of panel is allowed as standard.

Finish Length

Standard
  • Any finished length to 115” can be specified on most products.
Additional Charges
  • Finished length for railroaded fabrics cannot exceed 98”.
  • Fabric Width – (2 x Hem size) – 6 or there will be an additional charge (max 98” finished length).
  • For finished length over 115 inches, there is an additional charge.

Returns

Standard
  • Be sure to specify all returns, there is no such thing as a standard return.
  • If no returns are specified, the last pleat will end at the side hem and the 1 ¾” side hem will be used to finish the end and hide the pin.
  • To get a space on the end of a drapery, put SP in the return box. This will give you a space (standard = 4”) with nothing added to your rod width.

Pins

Additional Charges
  • Pins are not included. If Pins are needed, please specify pin position. There will be an additional charge.
  • If pin setting is not specified, the standard setting will be assumed.

Fabric Charges

Additional Charges
  • Velvet, suede, leather, upholstery weight, and plaid fabrics require an up-charge.

Trim

Standard
  • Be sure to specify the trim placement on your order.

Band and Ruffle

Standard
  • Be sure to specify band and ruffle width and placement on your order.

Overlap

Standard
  • Four (4) inch is standard. Make sure to convert rod width to overall width.
  • Pairs = Rod Width + Overlap (4”) + Left Return + Right Return.
  • Panel = Rod Width + One Return.
    • Specify SP in other return.
  • Do not add returns for under draperies when using a double traverse rod.
    • Specify space = SP in returns.
