Kirsch Bent and Curved Hardware Styles – All About Tracks

August 15, 2025

Bent or curved drapery hardware offers a stylish, custom solution designed to fit the unique curvature or angles of your windows. Because each installation is tailored to the specific window shape, Kirsch requires a detailed paper template with every order for bent or curved tracks.

In the last video of our Kirsch drapery hardware training series, Glen Tyson, MYL Hardware and Products Distribution Manager, and Jennifer DeRosa, MYL Drapery Department Manager, share expert guidance on creating an accurate template for custom rods.

Why Is a Template Necessary?

Kirsch is the leader in custom window treatment drapery track hardware, and with that reputation comes the need for precision. For any bending or curving of the hardware, the company requires a template to ensure the track fits perfectly. This is not optional — no orders for bent or curved rods can be processed without it.

Glen emphasizes that MYL no longer fabricates templates for customers. Instead, you’ll need to provide your own detailed paper template when ordering.

How to Make a Template: Key Guidelines

To make the process easier, Kirsch provides instructions on their website for how to create your template properly. Glen points out several must-have elements that your paper template must include:

  • A clear line that indicates the wall location.
  • A line that accurately represents the path of the track itself.
  • Identification of where the track ends on both sides.

These three components are essential to avoid guesswork and miscommunication. Glen stresses that if a template is missing any of these details—such as only showing a wall line without the track or missing end points—it will be rejected and returned to you for correction. This saves time and prevents costly errors.

Where to Find Template Instructions and Other Resources

Kirsch’s online resource library is a valuable tool that includes brochures, motorization guides, order forms, spec sheets, and detailed training documents. This library offers direct access to the most up-to-date information and instructions for creating custom templates.
